Online booking for hair salons

The problem with a salon diary is that no two appointments are the same length. A fringe trim is fifteen minutes and a full head of highlights is three hours, and a booking system that treats them as one thing will wreck your Saturday. Seatbooker gives every service its own duration, so the slots your clients see are the slots you can actually work.

What your service menu might look like

Set these up once and the calendar does the rest. Someone booking balayage on a Thursday only sees the starts that leave three and a half hours clear before you close.

Built around how hair salons actually work

Colour and cuts stop colliding

Each service carries its own length, so a three-hour colour cannot be booked into the gap before your lunch. No more discovering at 9am that Saturday has two full heads back to back with nothing in between.

Time to sweep up between clients

Set a gap between appointments and it applies to every booking automatically. Ten minutes to clear the station and put the kettle on, without padding every service length to fake it.

Late cancellations cost you less

Choose how much notice a client must give, and write your policy in your own words - they see it when they cancel. Cancel inside that window or fail to turn up and their trust score drops, and you see that score on every future request.

A link for your Instagram bio

Most salon bookings start on Instagram. Your page is one link you can put in your bio, your Google listing or a WhatsApp reply, and clients book from their phone without an app.

What Seatbooker does not do

Worth knowing before you spend an evening setting it up.

  • No deposits or card payments. You cannot take money up front to hold a long colour slot, which is the main thing salons ask us for.
  • No patch test tracking. If you need a record of tests before colour, that stays wherever you keep it now.
  • Starter is one person. A salon with a second chair needs Professional or Plus.

Common questions

Can I take a deposit for a long colour appointment?
Not today, and it is the request we hear most from salons. Online payments are on the roadmap and are not in the product now. What you can do is set a cancellation notice period, write your own policy text, and mark no-shows - a client's trust score follows them and you see it before you accept the next booking.
My prices depend on hair length. How does that work?
The price on the page is a starting point rather than a quote, and most salons handle it by naming the service accordingly - "Balayage (from £130)" - and settling up in the chair. Every service also has a description field, which is the right place for "price varies with length and thickness, confirmed at consultation".
